Bob Davies Online Coaching

Welcome...

  • Thank you for stopping by my web site and for taking the time to explore the possibility of being a part of my on-line coaching program.

    The Problem:

Several years ago I asked myself if I was an entertainer, or an impact speaker. There must be over 5000 members of the National Speakers Association who call themselves "motivational" speakers. I'd say only a handful of them are actually having an impact with the audience. Most of them would be entertainers. They do a dynamic presentation and leave the audiences temporarily feeling good. However, once an individual returns to their e-mails, voice mails, priorities, distractions, and the multitude of everyday circumstances that all compete for their attention, the excitement that they had at the conference wears off.

    How we are...

Below is a graph of impact over time:

    Graph[1]

As you can see, the impact of 80% of what is heard is lost within the next 48 hours. The question becomes, is it possible to sustain the high impact of a presentation? Can I have a long-term impact with someone who has heard me speak?

The answer is absolutely! In fact, I can have a long-term impact even with a person who has not heard me speak as long as one item is present...

    Long_Key[1]

In order for me to have an impact, I must have long-term contact with the individual. By impact I mean that I am having an influence that is changing habits, forever! Lasting change!

The best way to have long term change that sticks is for you to hire a coach. You can hire me. My fee is $3,500 for the first month and then $1,850 per month on going. What I've found however, is that fee is considered very expensive.

I then thought that I had solved the issue of affordability by generating arrangements with "assistant" coaches with fees ranging from $600 per month down to my lowest assistant at $250 per month. I'm thinking this has got to look pretty good compared to my fee of $3,500!

    That was still too much..............

That's right. Most people thought that the fee of $250 was too prohibitive. If most people can't afford to hire me as their coach and they can't afford to hire an assistant coach, then I'm going to have to simply call myself an entertainer and just live with it!

Then I had an idea. I looked through the notebooks of my current and past live coaching clients. I was looking to see if there was a trend, a structure that could be duplicated. I asked myself the question; does everyone I coach go through a similar experience that can be duplicated in a format that could be very inexpensive?

The answer was yes! This led to the development of the on-line coaching program. For an extremely low fee of $19.95 I can be your coach. You and I will duplicate the live coaching experience all for this low fee.

The program is an on-line program. More about the specifics of the program later. Right now I want to get into the reason why you need it! However, don't get me wrong. It is better for you to hire a live coach than just do the on-line program. In fact, most of my live coaching clients also are using the on-line program as well. However, if affordability is an issue, and, if you like the way that I coach and want to be a part of it, then this is the coaching program for you!

    Why we need a Coach...

The answer is very simple. The Law of Human Nature!

    Pain_Key[1]

We are all driven to avoid pain and to seek comfort. Everything that we do is motivated by this natural and compelling human instinct. What you pay attention to is driven by an instinct in your nervous system, which simply is like human radar. It constantly searches the environment for anything that can be dangerous and hurt you.

We are all like a computer in that we have a natural default mechanism.

Our Brain will defer and avoid away from the highest level of perceived pain

No matter what our goals are, there will be activities that we will need to do to reach those goals. There are a bundle of nerve fibers at the base of the brain referred to as the reticular formation. This area of our brain dictates what we allow into our consciousness. In other words, what we pay attention to.

Back in the earliest times of recorded history, it was very important for mankind to be able to instantly recognize what can hurt us and to avoid it. Our very lives depended on that ability! Since this was a matter of survival, our brains evolved to be just like a search engine, or radar, to rapidly seek the recognition of what is dangerous and to stimulate us to avoid that circumstance.

However, this instinct no longer serves us. The instinct still lives within us all however. Here are a few excellent examples of how this primitive instinct no longer serves us but continues to hold us back.

    Rejection for sales people:

You nor I will be hurt by the word NO! However, our brains view rejection as this life threatening, horrible event that must be avoided at all times. Therefore, the sales person might have the intentions to prospect to improve their income, but human nature recognizes the activity of prospecting as "dangerous", as extremely uncomfortable, and therefore compels you to avoid. When you avoid this "dangerous" activity, you will justify the avoidance with rationalizations and never know that you are doing so.

Dieting and exercise for losing weight:

It is a know fact that 65% of Americans are considered either overweight or obese! America is in a health crisis! Why is it so difficult for millions of Americans to lose weight and keep it off? Is it because they don't know what to do or how to do it? No! That information is readily available, diet and exercise.

The reason for the great difficulty is because the activities of dieting and exercising are linked to pain! Hunger is painful! It is hard to exercise!

You have the intentions of going to the gym three times this week and to stay on a certain diet. You intend to do so, you are motivated to do so, but do you do it? It depends on what you are paying attention to.

Human nature will have you pay attention to the pain of hunger, the inconvenience, pain and struggle of exercise, and you will be compelled to avoid going to the gym and to avoid staying on that diet.

Instead you will avoid and then justify your avoidance with rationalizations. You will believe that the truth was that you were just too busy!

Let's talk about the truth for a while. What is the curved line below, concave or convex?

    Concav_pict[1]

You have to take a perspective before you can answer that question. Let's look at this from the A side. Now, the line is concave. Here is how a perception is formed. A looks at the evidence and gathers the facts. The line is bending towards A at the top and bottom. The line is bowed away from A in the center. That is the definition of a concave line. It is absolutely true that this is a concave line from A's point of view.

However, B does the same thing. B gathers evidence. The line is bending away from B at both the top and bottom, and it is bowing towards B at the center. The truth is that this is a convex line for B. Again, absolutely true! How can the same set of circumstances, the line, be both concave and convex at the same time? What does that tell you about the truth?

The truth is not relevant. The truth doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is does what you are paying attention to compel you to action or avoidance!

The key is to influence what you pay attention to. If you can influence what you see, how you think, what you pay attention to on a daily basis, then you will directly influence how you feel and what you do every day!

That is exactly what the on-line coaching program is designed to do for you. It is a low cost system where you will compete with human nature with the most powerful tool available; behavioral contracting.

Here is the elite performance formula:

    Specific_phrase[1]

You cannot trust yourself to be able to objectively interpret your choices of what you do or do not do in your life. Rationalization is just too powerful and deceptive. Is the truth that you are just too busy to go to the gym or are you avoiding an uncomfortable activity?

Is the truth that you really do need to work with your staff (working on your business as an entrepreneur) rather than make prospecting calls yourself (working in your business as a telemarketer)? Or, are you avoiding the rejection that comes along with prospecting and justifying the avoidance with rationalizations?

The rational "lies" look so real most of the time you just think you are doing the best you can. Consider the illusion below:

    mov_circles[1]

I promise you, these circles are not moving. Doesn't it look like they are? You can't trust your own perception! They are not moving. The truth is that they are still. The truth doesn't matter. It's perception that counts.

That is why the on-line coaching program will help you immediately to shift what you pay attention to, what actions you take, and the reinforcement and motivation to remain on the program will last for a long time.

    Every week you log on to take your coaching call and you follow these steps;

    1. Evaluation of last weeks behavioral contract. (Did you do what you said you would do?)

    2. Payment of any fines. (Through the use of self-imposed fines, you will make it more painful not to take the actions then it is to take the actions. Human nature will make it easy for you to take the actions you commit to.)

    3. Commit for the next seven days.

    4. Discussion of last week's homework or inquiry if there was one given.

    5. This weeks coaching concept, or learning for the call. (Three out of four weeks the first year of the program have performance concepts. Year two moves to two out of four weeks present a behavioral concept.)

    6. Last chance to edit your performance contract.

    7. Print your contract for the week. (A copy of last weeks results and this weeks commitments are automatically e mailed to three people of your choice)

This is a one of its' kind program and at $19.95 it is very affordable! I would like to invite you to go directly to the site by clicking on the coaching link at the bottom of this page.
